Off piste skiing Val d'Isere

Current conditions

HATadventures on snow All in all I gotta give it two thumbs up, I got to go places I never would have gone otherwise, learnt heaps and maybe now I can once and for all overcome my fears and start getting out there with friends and keep it up. It was an experience I’ll remember forever, thanks Henry!

Beccs - One of Henry’s clients in 2006

Thanks for a superb experience.  To be honest I entered the idea of the HATadventures concept with a bit of trepidation for a number of reasons. The snow in Europe was supposed to be rubbish; I was a bit nervy about the off-piste idea; and lastly I knew I was the guinea pig for your concept (still not really sure how I feel about being a guinea pig!!). In the end it was all good. We managed to make the most of the snow which was about, the skiing wasn't too out of my league (and improved hugely during the week) and the course ended up being all you promised and more.

Am now revved up looking for my next ski challenge - the choices are China, Japan or Kashmir in India. Only problem is to that I have to work a bit to pay for it before I go.  Whatever else, please accept an open invitation to join me in New Zealand sometime.  If you can get there when I am about and there is snow (or not) I'll make sure I return the hospitality you gave me when I was in La Plagne.

Please feel free to use me as a reference for any future clients who may also be a bit nervy about the idea.  I would be happy to give an honest (and as a result positive) appraisal of my experience.

All the best
Phil Reese Jan 2007

HAT programmes

HAT offers four different types of programmes. They will all help you to get more information and acquire new skills to stay safe and have more fun in the off piste.  You can watch this video to get an idea of what it is like to ski with HAT click here

Avalanche awareness Val d'Isere

Transceiver training, beeper training Val d'Isere

The original practical guide to staying safe and having more fun out there.

Learn the basics of good practise, where to go, how to go, when to go.  Understand more about avalanche danger. Always fun, expert presenters, sensational video, awesome avalanche photos and see Henry setting one off an accidental slide back in 1988.

We hold talks in Val d’Isere and Chamonix and occasionally in  locations around the UK

Learn how to rescue your friends.

Wearing an avalanche transceiver is a great start and in an accident it will help to be found. But if you do not know not know how to use it for search and rescue, then you will be not much use to your friends, if they go down. N.B. 'Beeper' is our shorthand for avalanche transceiver and is much easier to say

We run these programmes in Val d’Isere on Wednesday and Friday afternoons
